Using the Timer
Go to Explore > Timer to set up:
- Duration: 1 minute to 2 hours
- Start bell: Sound to begin
- Interval bells: Optional chimes during the session
- End bell: Sound to signal completion
Bell Options
Choose from:
- Tibetan singing bowl
- Meditation chime
- Gentle gong
- Soft bell
- Simple tone
- None
Each sound has volume control.
Interval Bells
Set bells to ring at regular intervals:
- Every 5 minutes
- Every 10 minutes
- At the halfway point
- Custom intervals
These help you stay present during long sessions without checking the clock.
Ambient Backgrounds
Add optional background sounds:
- Complete silence
- Soft nature sounds
- White noise
- Subtle music
Saving Timer Presets
Create and save configurations for different practice types:
- "Morning sit" - 20 min, singing bowl start/end
- "Quick reset" - 5 min, minimal bells
- "Deep practice" - 45 min, 10-min interval chimes
Tips for Timer Meditation
- Place your phone face-down to resist clock-checking
- Interval bells can be helpful or distracting—experiment
- Softer sounds are usually better for ending a session
- Consider using airplane mode during practice
