Understanding Your Mood Trends

Reading your emotional patterns

Once you've tracked your mood for a while, patterns emerge. Here's how to read them.

The Mood Dashboard

Go to Progress > Mood to see your trends visualized:

Weekly Overview: Your mood ratings plotted across the week

Time of Day: Are mornings better than evenings (or vice versa)?

Activity Correlation: Which activities precede good moods?

Streak-Free Zone: We show consistency, not streaks—no guilt here

What to Look For

Daily Patterns

  • Do you have a predictable low-energy time?
  • Are certain days consistently harder?
  • Does your mood follow sleep quality?

Activity Impact

  • Which activities correlate with improved mood?
  • Are there activities that don't seem to help?
  • How long do mood boosts last?

Weekly Rhythms

  • Weekend vs. weekday differences
  • Monthly patterns (yes, these exist for everyone)
  • Seasonal trends over time

Using Insights

This isn't about optimization—it's about understanding yourself. When you see patterns, you can:

  • Schedule challenging tasks during high-energy times
  • Front-load mood-boosting activities on hard days
  • Recognize when dips are normal, not concerning
  • Adjust your plan to match your rhythms

Limitations

Mood tracking shows correlation, not causation. If you feel better after meditation, it might be the meditation—or it might be the break, the quiet, or the time of day. Use insights as hypotheses, not conclusions.
